it is the start of an new school year, and we are off and running in STEM. This first week of school we are working on team work and communication. Much of our work in STEM involves collaborative work, and we learn early to value the thoughts of others. Students in grades second and third had a blast working together to cross the classroom using only paper as lily pads. Kindergarten students worked together by sharing tasks in building marshmallow sculptures. First grade students thought about design challenges and the need to redesign to make improvements by creating marshmallow shooters and seeing how far they could make a marshmallow travel down the hallway. We are looking forward to a wonderful year in STEM!
